Visit with Francesco Daddi,

owner/winemaker of La Leccia,

Wed March 28, 2018, 20% off sale all day, pairing 5:00-7:00 pm

We are very happy that Francesco is visiting Pairings. Lori and Ray visited him at Castello La Leccia in Castellina Tuscany several years ago (see web address below for the blog). The Castle is a great place to stay. We sipped an espresso out in their beautiful gardens, awaiting Francesco. The site is fantastic, high-up and looking out in all directions, which is why the Germans took it as an observation post in WWII. This is why the Allies bombed it, and Francesco had to rebuild the castle. His wines are organic, made with great precision and we love them. Francesco will present the three wines, an IGT Toscano, our favorite Chianti Classico and the new vintage of his  Chianti Classico Giuliano Riserva. Francesco will bring bottles of the Riserva for us to taste and for pre-orders. Francesco only releases wine when he thinks it’s ready. Arrival in MA is expected in 1-2months (TBD).

La Leccia Vivaio del Cavaliere IGT Toscano, Sangiovese, Black Malvasia, Bright dried red fruit, smooth and easy in the mouth with good acidity and rich with a nice freshness.

La Leccia Chianti Classico, This wine is elegant, with fruit, earth, spice and a hint of black tea, a long, deeply-flavored, beautifully structured, a serious wine.
