Classic Chablis, Cookout Austrian Red, Bold Napa Cab and a Pink Preview

Our “official” tasting line up for this weekend includes five great wines from Chablis, Austria, Gigondas and Napa Valley.  As always you’ll enjoy best mixed-case savings during our tasting Friday from 3-7pm and Saturday noon-4 as we pour:

Dom Alain Gautheron Chablis Cuvee Emeraude 2015 – A zesty, mineral, stony and almost salty 91 point (Wine Advocate) Chablis from just $21.98.  Questions?

Dom Alain Gautheron Chablis Grand Cru Valmur 2015 – I know I said we’d only open this on Saturday, but it’s just so powerfully delicious that we can’t stand showing it off both day.  Grand Cru white Burgundy with 15+ years potential from $66.98.

Steindorfer Apetlon Rouge Burgenland 2015
– In their 91 point review, Wine Enthusiast calls this “moreish” -  meaning so tasty you want more and more.  Not much I can add to that – a terrific wine and value.

Ch Croix Des Pins Les Dessous Des Dentelles Gigondas 2014 – Wow, is this ever delicious!  An elegant, pure and delicious 91 point Gigondas for under $25.

Martin Ray Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Napa 2014 – Another wine that’s been going good places over the past few months, this is even richer and deeper than last year and ready for robust grilled and roasted meats tonight.  A bargain!

And, there’s an “unofficial” bonus.  We continue to be enthralled by the wines of Tuscany’s Montenidoli, and we’re looking forward to bringing them to you in quantity a few weeks from now.  One of the most surprising treats from this San Gimignano estate is their Canaiuolo Rosato Toscana.  It's 100% Canaiolo - a traditional blending partner with Sangiovese - that delivers a captivating blend of richness, depth, intense fruit, and a crisp, dry, finish.  There’s a big slug of the 2017 on the way, but we managed to get a few cases of the 2016 to get us started.  Come, taste, and be delighted (even if there’s so little that it will probably go early in the tastings).  Then watch for the 2017 to come!
