Join Mezcal Vago founder Judah Kuper as he takes us on a sensory tour of Oaxaca through the finely crafted spirits produced by local master mezcaleros.

Already enchanted with the serenity offered on a wild island off the shores of Oaxaca, Judah Kuper became smitten with his nurse while being treated in a local clinic. The romance blossomed and he eventually married into a family who has been producing Mezcal for many generations – going back 500 years.
Vago marks the first time their products have been available commercially, having previously been consumed solely by friends and family. The Espadin is the classic expression made by Judah's father-in-law Aquilino García López.
Beguiled by the intriguing characteristics of the family’s unique Mezcals, the tamed wild smoky, flavors and smooth texture, Judah set forth to put his passion into practice, and formed Mezcal Vago in 2012. His intent was to export truly extraordinary, finely crafted spirits produced by local master mezcaleros..

And as a special prize we will be tasting his new Paranubes Rum, an aguardiente de caña produced deep in Oaxaca’s Sierra Mazateca Mountains. Created from pure sugarcane, this spirit has a unique grassy, wild character. It is a perfect cocktail Rum, and makes and amazing Daiquiri.
