Cost: $25 in advance and $30 at the door, will be available for purchase at the Tropicana Box Office and via Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com. $10 tickets are available for designated drivers.

Sample over 150 of New Jersey’s finest wines at the Tropicana Jersey Shore Wine Festival taking place Feb. 24 (12 p.m. – 6 p.m.) and Feb. 25 (12 p.m. – 4 p.m.) at the Grand Exhibition Center. Wines will be available for purchase by the bottle or case. The festival features artisan crafters, delicious food available for purchase, a full service bar, live entertainment and wine seminars by knowledgeable wine professionals.

Admission includes a souvenir wine glass, participation in educational wine seminars, and a plate of fruit and cheese. Tickets, $25 in advance and $30 at the door, will be available for purchase at the Tropicana Box Office and via Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com. $10 tickets are available for designated drivers. Must be 21 to attend

  • Saturday, Feb. 24 – Live entertainment featuring Beth Tinnon, named 2017’s “Best Atlantic City Lounge Act of the Year.”
  • Sunday, Feb. 25 – Live entertainment featuring South Jersey’s beloved cover band, Stealing Savanah.
  • Educational seminars with wine experts including local sommelier, Paul Tonacci, whose industry-recognized certifications include Certified Wine Judge (American Wine Society), Certified Specialist of Wine (Society of Wine Educators) and Level 2 Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers). 
  • Delicious food items will be available for purchase including Handcrafted Pretzels, BBQ Pulled Pork served with Jack Daniel’s Honey BBQ Sauce, and Tropicana’s award-winning Lobster Bisque Chowder and Cape May Clam Chowder.
  • Artisan craft vendors round out the offerings of this festival with unique items available for purchase such as genuine Swarovski jewelry, natural honey, hand-painted glassware, spreadable bacon and more.

  • Forty-Five Minute Wine Expert with John Mahoney, Ph.D., C.W.E      
    Saturday, February 24th 1 PM (45 minutes) 
    Become a wine expert in just forty-five minutes as John Mahoney, Certified Wine Educator breaks down everything you need to know. John Mahoney has judged wines across the United States and Europe, and has taught Chaucer and Shakespeare  over 40 years. He is Chancellor of the Dionysian Society International, a member of the American Wine Society, a Chevalerie du Verre Galant (Knights of Cognac), President of New Jersey Club Zinfandel, Director of the Tri-State Wine College, and is the voice of “Weekend Wine Tips” on the radio.. He  hosts corporate wine education seminars and teaches wine classes each semester. John is the author of seven books; the most recent is “Wine for Intellectuals” and his newest book, “Wine: the Source of Civilization” will be available later this year. He considers himself a “wine missionary.”

  • Meet the Winemaker: Larry Sharrott Sr. of Sharrott Winery
    Saturday, February 24th 2 PM (30 minutes) 
    Interested in the wine making process? Meet Larry Sharrott Sr. of Sharrott Winery, based in Hammonton, New Jersey and formerly an apple orchard, the vineyard was first planted in 2005, and opened to the public in 2008, since then his family has grown their passion and have built a reputation for producing world-class vintages right here in New Jersey. Their wines have won awards from: San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition the Indy International Wine Competition, Fingerlakes International Wine Competition along with the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association Wine Competition and numerous other prestigious awards. Larry will host an information session providing his background at Sharrott Winery as well as their philosophies and wines. Sharrott is part of the Outer Coastal Plain – American Viticultural Area (AVA). This federally recognized viticultural region is home to some of the oldest wineries in the country. Question and answer session to follow.

  • Pinot Envy with John Mahoney, Ph.D., C.W.E

  • From Bean to Bar & Grape to Glass: A Chocolate & Wine Pairing with Paul Tonacci  
    Saturday, February 24th 4 PM (45 minutes) 
    Get ready to fall in love with chocolate and wine all over again as sommelier and chocolate pro, Paul Tonacci, sets you on a guided tour of chocolate and wine pairings featuring some of the best wines produced in the Garden State and sumptuous chocolate by world-class producer, 1892 Chocolate from Ecuador! Try various flavors of chocolate with white, rose, sparkling, red wines and sweet wines and experience why these two together make the perfect pairing in a guided setting. We’ll discuss everything from the grape varieties’ flavors and share some winery stories and chocolate fun facts. Paul is a Certifed Sommelier, a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) and a Certified Wine Judge through the American Wine Society. He participates as a judge in competitions throughout the US and in London. Paul’s goal is to raise the profile of wines from all over the world, especially New Jersey’s own and currently consults.

  • New Jersey Wines with Dr. Gary Pavlis
    Sunday, February 25th  1 PM (45 minutes) 
    Discover New Jersey wines and ask Gary any questions you might have. Gary C. Pavlis is a professor and agricultural agent at Rutgers University. A leading authority on grape growing, Dr. Pavlis only travels to places that make wine. Dr. Pavlis is the organizer of the annual NJ Wine Competition and wine contributor to Edible Jersey Magazine.

  • New Jersey Wines vs. the World with John Mahoney, Ph.D., C.W.E & Dr. Gary Pavlis
    Sunday, February 25th  2 PM (1 hour) 
    Discover how New Jersey wines stack up against French, Chilean and Argentinean wines in a blind taste test. Then vote for your favorites to determine the winner.   • Meet the Winemaker: Heather Brown of Wagonhouse Winery
    Sunday, February 25th 3 PM (30 minutes) 
    Interested in the wine making process? Meet Heather Brown, of Wagonhouse Winery in South Harrison Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. In early 2004 Dan and Heather decided to start a vineyard and winery. They leased some land from Dan’s family who had been farming in Mickleton for over a century, planted some grapes and hoped for the best! Twelve years, 18 – 25 wines, and three little boys later, they are still moving forward with all the energy and creativity they started with! The name, by the way, came from the old wagonhouse on the Brown family farm. Heather will host an information session providing her background at Wagonhouse as well as their philosophies and wines. Wagonhouse Winery is part of the Outer Coastal Plain – American Viticultural Area (AVA). This federally recognized viticultural region is home to some of the oldest wineries in the country.
