Tickets are now available for the 23rd annual Cabernet for Connoisseurs event hosted by San Francisco-based Family House, an organization supporting children being treated for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses at University of California San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital.
Taking place on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at The St. Regis Hotel San Francisco, the event will feature wines from 40 of the most sought-after Northern California wineries, entertainment by singer-song writer Kelly James, an auction led by international wine specialist and auctioneer, Charles Antin, and a California chef-inspired dinner menu.
Exclusive auction lots featured during the live and silent auction will include unparalleled luxury and travel packages and one-of-a-kind experiences, including a Thomas Keller Lobster Boil at Shafer Winery and Game of Thrones Dinner with executive producer Bryan Cogman in the Hourglass Winery Caves.
John Shafer, a James Beard Foundation Award winner, and producer of the infamous Shafer Vineyards Hillside Select Cabernet Sauvignon, will be honored with the Arthur R. Ablin Award for his long-standing support of Family House. John has been contributing to the organization since the very first Cabernet for Connoisseurs event 23 years ago, and will be recognized for the important role he plays in keeping the wine community engaged with Family House, and in providing housing and social services for families in need in Napa Valley.
Tickets are limited and are available for $750 per person. Attendees also have the option of purchasing a table for $6,000, which includes a total of eight guests and the opportunity to dine with a special guest vintner from one of the sponsor wineries. All proceeds from the event will benefit Family House families thanks to generous donations from many California wineries, the San Francisco Giants, nationally-renowned chefs like Jacques Pepin, entertainers such as Train’s Patrick Monahan, and exclusive destination sites such as French Laundry and Meadowood.
