The Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) have been providing internationally recognised qualifications for Wine Industry Professionals and enthusiastic amateurs since 1969.

The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits Course (formerly known as the Intermediate Course) is an entry level wine course which doesn't require the completion of any other wine courses to enrol.

WSET Level 2
The WSET Level 2 Award Course is intended as vocational training in product knowledge for those employed in the drinks industry who have little previous knowledge of the broad range of alcoholic beverages available. The qualification is suitable wherever a good level of product knowledge is required to underpin job skills and competencies.

The course is also appropriate for those not employed in the drinks industry but who are enthusiastic about wine, and wish to broaden their knowledge in a structured way. This qualification provides the knowledge required for those wishing to progress to WSET Level 3.

Please note it is NOT necessary to have completed Level 1 before entering for Level 2.

Saturday Courses - who are they designed for?

We run Saturday sessions for those who have a busy schedule in London unable to sacrifice a working day.
The sessions run for 6 hours, starting at 11am and finishing at 5.30 pm, which enables you plenty of time to arrive punctually and enough time to enjoy your evening
There are 3 full sessions and an exam session. At the end of the final day is the exam.

Course Outline :

Saturday 3rd March - Session 1 - Tasting Technique, Grapegrowing & Winemaking
Saturday 10th March - Session 2 - Grape varieties
Saturday 24th March - Session 3 - Sparkling & Sweet wines, Fortified Wines. 1-hour Exam.

All WSET course materials including; Looking Behind the Label course manual, Study Guide, Specification book and Tasting Card
Use of ISO professional tasting glasses
All tasting wines (approx 40-45 wines)
All course handouts
All course tuition
Examination Paper
