Wines from the Western Balkans:
Croatia and Slovenia
Saturday, January 27th
Trapp Family Lodge Wine Cellar
“The winemaking traditions of the countries mapped in this strife-torn corner of Europe are as varied as one would expect of such a complex mosaic of different cultures – although there are similarities between the wine history of Croatia and that of Slovenia.”
Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson: The World Atlas of Wine
Here’s an unusual category for a tasting. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality of wines from Slovenia and Croatia.
Both countries have been influenced by Italy and Austria and both are known primarily for their whites though we will be tasting but one white and four reds.
Come and be adventuresome.
Price is $20. Please call or see the front desk to place reservations. 802 253-5742. Doors open @ 4:00. I suggest you arrive no later than 5:00 to avoid feeling rushed. People come and go during the tasting which is an informal walk around format. We end at 6:00
