Please join us Wednesday, January 17th any time between 4:30-7:30pmfor our first flight night of 2018 when we welcome Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley and celebrate ZAP (Zinfandel Advocates and Producers) with a very special Zinfandel flight. In attendance will be: Julie Pedroncelli St. John of J. Pedroncelli Winery, Barry Collier of Collier Falls, Katie Divonio of Ridge Vineyards, Kelly Ferris of Comstock Wines and Clayton Fritz of Fritz Winery.

J. Pedroncelli – J. Pedroncelli was founded in 1927 when Giovanni Pedroncelli purchased land in Geyserville that included 25 acres of Zinfandel vines. Today, the third generation of Pedroncellis own the winery and the fourth generation is now involved in running the sustainably farmed 105-acre estate. Most famous for their Zinfandel, they also grow Bordeaux and Burgundian varietals as well as Sangiovese and Petite Sirah.

Collier Falls – Barry and Susan Collier were enjoying busy city life until a wine tasting visit to Sonoma County in 1992 changed all that. They decided to move to wine country and start their own winery. Their timing was pretty good too – they released their first Zinfandel with the 1997 vintage and earned 90 points from Wine Spectator. Zinfandel became their specialty although they also produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Syrah.

Ridge Vineyards – Legendary winemaker, Paul Draper, firmly established Ridge Vineyards as one of California’s premier producers of Zinfandel and current day winemakers, Eric Baugher and John Olney have carried on that legacy with seamless continuity. In 1991, Ridge purchased Lytton Springs Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley and continues to craft exemplary Zinfandel blends from this special 115 year old vineyard.

Comstock Wines – Bob and Sandy Comstock have been growing grapes and supplying their fruit to local wineries in Dry Creek Valley since 2002. They had always dreamt of making their own wine so after their daughter, Kelly Ferris, joined them as General Manager, the Comstocks released their first estate wines in 2015. Their focus is on Zinfandel yet they also grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Chardonnay.

Fritz Winery – Jay Fritz built an underground ‘Gaudi-style’ gravity flow winery in the early 1970s that was decades ahead of its time and is a model of sustainability in today’s world. Jay’s son, Clayton runs the operation now using fruit from the 120-acre estate vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. Their Zinfandel bottlings put the winery on the map and they also make Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
