This is a Hands-on Cooking & Wine Experience


Come and experience the enticing and exquisite flavors of Korean cuisine with cookbook author and Chef Seung Hee Lee. This class will help demystify Korean cuisine and teach you how to make simple, healthful, yet delicious, everyday recipes, including bibimbap, scallion pancakes, as well as, the secret to making delicious Korean BBQ marinade. Chef Seung will walk you through simple steps on how to make your favorite Korean dishes at home, including how-to’s and tricks, accompanied by wine, appetizers, and fun stories.

After Chef walks you through the preparations of your meal, you'll don your apron and roll up your sleeves. Once you've completed your meal, you will sit down and enjoy it paired to perfection with complementary wines. Following the class you'll have an opportunity to talk with the author and pick up a signed copy of her beautiful cookbook Everyday Korean: Fresh, Modern Recipes for Home Cooks!

Throughout the afternoon you'll learn about the recipes, food preparation, and the "why" behind the wines we pair with the meal.

All AWS cooking classes include an emphasis on wine, because that's who we are!  You can expect three different wines paired with your meal.  If you would like to add more wine to your experience, you can taste 32 different wines in our Enomatics (wine dispensing system) or you can order wine by the glass or bottle.

About Chef Seung:

Author of Everyday Korean: Fresh, Modern Recipes for Home Cooks, Chef Seung has a unique background. She was born and raised in South Korea, studied traditional Korean royal court cuisine at the renowned Taste of Korea Research Institute, and has her PhD in Human Nutrition from the Johns Hopkins University.
