Join us for a free Italian wine tasting featuring some new wines for the new year!  Free to the public -- bring a friend.

2017 was a record year for Table Wine, and I'm ready to get 2018 off to a good start.  Stop by the store this Friday to sample a trio of new Italian wines, perfect for keeping you warm on these cold nights.  The theme this Friday is value, value, value -- I constantly look for wines that deliver tremendous QPR, and here are three that over-deliver in a big way.  It's the best free wine tasting in Asheville, and you're invited.  Stop by, taste, learn, and save big on the featured tasting wines.

And don't forget to stop back by this Saturday from 2-5pm to taste a trio of 90+ point-rated reds from France, Spain, and Italy.

All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle!  To take advantage of the savings, all sales must be tendered by the end of the tasting.

1. 2016 Bidoli Pinot Grigio (Friuli, Italy) - Founded in 1924, this family-run winery crafts one of the top Pinot Grigio values in the world.  Based in the Friuli-Grave zone, which is prized for its gravelly, rocky soils, the Pinot Grigios of this area are richer, fuller, and more intensely flavored.  Soft and velvety, with aromas and flavors of pear, white peach, and almond, this is a lot of white wine for your dollar.
Special Tasting Price: $9.59/bottle

2. 2016 Arche Montepulciano (Abruzzo, Italy) - I can't think of a better, inexpensive red than Montepulciano for serving with classic Amer-Italian cuisine like pizza and pasta with red sauce.  This is a great rendition -- hearty, plump and juicy, it flows with notes of dark cherry and spicy.  With velvety tannin and mild acidity, this is a real crowd-pleasing wine.
Special Tasting Price: $13.59/bottle

3. 2015 Cantina Sant'Evasio Barbera d'Asti (Piemonte, Italy) - It's our Case of the Month and it's a screaming good red wine value! This third-generation, family-run estate specializes in Barbera, and they farm all of their vineyards in a sustainable and organic fashion.  From the warm, sunny, and highly successful 2015 vintage, this is a prime example of Barbera d'Asti.  Showing a nice mix of dark and red cherry fruit along with more complex notes of spice, juniper berry, and violet, this is a stunner of a wine at a great price.
Special Tasting Price: $9.59/bottle
Special Case of the Month Price: $8.99/bottle on your solid case
