Sparkling Wines for Celebrating
Wed Dec 27, 5-7pm, sale all day (20% off)
Toasts and Celebrations are the mainstay of Sparkling wines, and New Years’ Eve is the motivation for this pairing. However, sparkling wines are versatile for food pairings, many cheeses (especially creamy ones), sushi (or any spicy foods), to various savory foods….and that’s just for brut and dry sparklers. Sweet sparkling wines are another category. The Wed sale has a range of sparkling wines: a Prosecco from our favorite producer, an unusual sparkler from Italy, as well as a true Champagne
Marsuret San Boldo Prosecco, Glera, Sparkling, Veneto, Italy, Y, The bouquet is delicate and lightly aromatic with an elegant complexity reminiscent of golden apples. With hints of wild flowers, the flavor is intense, dry and fresh.
Cantine Mucci Spumante, Pecorino, Falanghina, Sparkling, Abruzzo, Italy, Y, "First sparkling ever from these varietals; tons of exotic fruits here, peach, passion fruit with a lip puckering note. The bubbles are quite persistent"
Gobillard Brut Champagne, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, Sparkling, Champagne, France, "Tightly meshed and vibrant, with juicy acidity backing hints of pineapple and papaya, showing flavors of chalk, biscuit, plum and fresh ginger. A note of zesty spice graces the fresh, mineral-tinged finish"
