Cedar Liquor in Macedon has been a very good partner with Agness Wine Cellars to provide fine wines at reasonable prices. We teamed together recently with Lyons National Bank in a cross promotional event to gain more exposure for small family business. Agness Wine Cellars does not have its own tasting room in the Finger Lakes, but has provided over 75 individual tasting events in wine shops like Cedar help them sell wine and for us to gain greater exposure. Despite being name Best New Wine in America in the May Edition of Beverage Magazine, being rated by Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator as a premium Finger Lakes Semi-Dry Riesling and being the Featured Wine of the Month in Bartender Magazine this year, the vast majority of those trying our wine as tastings had never heard of us.
That's ok, as the taste of our Finger Lakes Riesling speaks for itself. Cedar Liquor was one of first wine shops to carry and feature our brand even before any accolades or articles talking about Agness Wine Cellars' start up winery. That part of our story - trying to break into the wine business against all odds of success. Now in the Finger Lakes there's over 100 wineries, tens of thousands of more across country and even more around the globe competing for the wine consumer's attention. We don't have the mass media budgets, but most times you'll meet the winemaker who will take time to chat while you're sampling. That's something we can do!
It's understandable ... so consider buying local, supporting small family startup business and enjoy what's made in New York means.
