If you can find us, you will never drink the same.
The space formerly occupied by the Elliot Bay Bookstore Cafe is an underground wine cellar. Every Friday we pour a variety of engaging, striking, provocative wines. Each week will be a different lineup.
We have a menu of wines, but Tom will talk with you to find out what you like. We go from there; there is nothing typical. The Menu will change-- but will always be simple and delectable. Soup like your grandmother's. Grilled Kimchee with halloumi. That kind of thing.
We could pour what all the other wine "bars" (of which there are no real ones in Seattle) are pouring, but we are going to show something different. Think of it as a trip a European wine cellar without jetlag. Pet Nat? Yep. Unfiltered? Often. Funky, strange, delicious in a way you can't explain? Always. Is there something you would like to have us pour in the future? Let us know. We'll find it if it is available. (Let's put it this way-- can you find someone out there who will show Macvin du Jura? Aged Verdicchio? Deeply cellared Portuguese wine?
To be frank-- we are not easy to find. Good luck. It's a speakeasy but focused on wine. Don't be afraid to descend the stairs.
