An introductory course for those who are not yet experts in wine. It is ideal for passionate wine lovers and for those looking to advance their career in wine or hospitality. The course covers the main types and styles of wine available and how to serve and store wine. A food and wine pairing lab will demonstrate why some wines go better with certain foods than others. There is a 30-question multiple-choice quiz at the end of the day, after which the class will enjoy a Champagne toast. Those successful at the exam will earn the prestigious WSET Level 1 Award in Wine. The course will be taught by Master of Wine Jean K Reilly, one of just 30 Masters of Wine in the United States. This is a 2-day course, Jan 20 and Jan 27, 10 AM to 2:30 PM.
