Taste Like A Pro, Level II
This is an Educational Wine Experience
In Level I, we learned about the “what” in sensory analysis of wine. Now come with us as we explore the “why”. Go “behind the scenes” on oak aging with real examples of “oak of the world” and modern-day “oak artifacts”. Take the exciting concept of “terroir” to the next level as we explore climate, soil, and geography. Experience the range of “wine faults” hands-on and learn to identify those most common. Taste the effect of aging and understand what is actually going on in the process. Put yourself in the shoes of the winemaker and the many decisions that are made as we go from grape juice to wine. Calibrate your taste buds as we examine how food affects wine, and vice versa.
Sit back and relax as your sommelier instructor sets the stage for an unforgettable, educational wine experience. Our wine classes provide a unique context for the enjoyment of wine appropriate for every level of interest and expertise; however this course does assume a working knowledge the primary wine varietals and the basic taste profiles that can be exhibited by each.
Throughout the evening, you will learn about the history, culture and language of wine through visual presentations, commentary and anecdotes from our personal experiences. And best of all, you’ll leave us with greater confidence, passion and understanding of the grapes so you can ultimately experience the pleasure of wine.
