While pink wines from Provence are certainly fun, the 25 year-old estate of Domaine d’Eole consistently demonstrates that Provençal wine has serious – as in “seriously delicious” – side as well. The estate’s US importer, Olivier Daubresse, Chef Bertrand Chemel and we invite you to join us for some seriously delicious fun as Olivier pairs the beautifully matured wines of Domaine d’Eole with the sophisticated cuisine of 2941 Restaurant.
We think you’ll leave the table with a deeper understanding of the remarkable accomplishments of partners Matthias Wimmer, a German Oenologist, and French financier Christian Raimont. Founded in 1992, d’Eole was one of the very first estates to practice organic farming in Provence, earning Ecocert certification from 1996. Unusually for Provence, Matthias excels with white wines, especially his grand Cuvee Lea, and creates wines that age gracefully and long in cellar.
Oliveir Daubresse has opened up his cellar to select 7 wines from d’Eole to share with us and have Chef Bertrand match with and elegant, flavorful, meal. You’ll taste one of d’Eole’s newest wines – a lovely sparkling rosé – along with whites from 2006 and 2007 and reds dating back to vintage 2000. The menu:
