We’re going to span the full range of still wine styles in our free weekend tastings this week! You’ll enjoy the perfect pink for Fall, a snappy Grüner classic, two takes on red Burgundy from the GREAT 2015 vintage, and even sample a smidge of just arrived single-vineyard vintage Port! Come by from 3-7pm on Friday and noon-4pm on Saturday, September 15 and 16, to sample:
Dom De La Mordoree Tavel Rosé La Dame Rousse 2016 - It's "shoulder season" weather-wise, and this robust rosé from Tavel straddles the line between light Provencal pinks and hearty Autumn reds. From one of the top rosé producers in the world, well worth getting to know.
Steininger Grüner Veltliner Kamptal DAC 2016 - What a refreshing, fun and delicious treat! In vintage 2016, the Kamptal's loess soils really shine through with fine minerality to go with the classic orchard fruit. Very pure and fine value, too!
Dom Les Fines Graves Moulin-a-Vent 2015 - One of the greatest values in a great, great, Beaujolais harvest, this has plenty of ripe fruit, a stylish minerality, and the structure to enjoy now or in 5-10 years. Double 92 point ratings from Vinous and WE, too!
Dom Adelie (Bichot) Mercurey 1er Cru Champs Martin 2015 - Just a stunning, ripe and elegant, red Burgundy from one of the greatest vintages here ever. Plenty of future in the cellar, for sure, but also an irresistible lushness that you'll love with richer foods now.
Dow Quinta de Senhora da Ribeira Port Vintage 2015 - The Port shippers were about to "declare" a vintage in 2015...but then realized 2016 was even better! So they bottled wines like this, a single vintage Port from a single, top, "Quinta" or estate. Plenty of Dow's power here with a lovely, firm, long finish.
We’ll have a treat or two from the cheese case out to sample and great mix/match savings on all the wines on tasting. Join us!
