EVENT UPDATE: We are deeply saddened at the losses sustained by so many of those we love due to the wildfires. Founder of Vineyards to Villages, David Stare, lost his home, and Paradise Ridge, a V2V partner, lost their winery. The road to normalcy will be long for many, but the spirit of Sonoma County is strong, and the Safari will go on! None of the 23 wineries still on the Safari have been affected by the fires and still offer the same wonderful experiences in beautiful settings.
As an organization that has responded to global communities in need for almost 40 years, we recognize that our local community needs us now. We have decided to contribute half of the funds raised from the V2V Wine & Food Safari to a local organization called the Active 20-30 Club, which will be partially matching these funds. The Active 20-30 Club will partner with us to fund long-term disaster relief efforts for children in Sonoma County that have been most devastated by the fires. The other half of the funds will continue to fund clean water projects at schools in East Africa.
The signs posted anonymously around Sonoma County continue to ring true - “The love in the air is thicker than the smoke.
Vineyards to Villages (V2V) was started by members of the Sonoma County wine industry in partnership with Global Partners for Development to bring clean water infrastructure to schools in East Africa. The V2V Wine Safari is an opportunity to eat, drink, and be merry in beautiful wine country, all while saving the lives of schoolchildren half a world away!
People who join the V2V Wine Safari get complimentary tastings at wineries across Sonoma County from November 10-12, discounts at local restaurants, a keepsake wine glass, entry into raffles, and more! 100% of all ticket sales go directly to water projects at schools in East Africa, and participating wineries also donate a portion of the sales of every bottle sold over the weekend.
This year, V2V will also offer a limited number of tickets to additional events throughout the weekend – a winemaker dinner at Christopher Creek Winery, a winemaker lunch at Fritz Underground Winery, and chocolate pairings at Pedroncelli Winery. These tickets are sold separately.
