The diversity of Italy is endless. From the tranquility of the countryside to the bustling squares, the historic architechture gives way to the rolling hills of the vineyard landscape. This is Enotria--the land of wine!
Join us for this special in-depth Viva class to explore the rich culture and regional cuisine of Southern Italy, where the intensity of the warm Mediterranean climate combined with the depth of slow-ripened grapes of higher altitudes yields wines that are elegant yet powerful. The wines of Southern Italy are an expression of the land, both varied and distinctive, yet true to tradition. We’ll give you the tools to understand and appreciate these lesser known indigenous varieties, many of which can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the finest wines of the old world, like Taurasi and Nero d’Avola.
The south of Italy has more area under vine than any other Italian region. Learn about these unique wines while enjoying a taste of regional cuisine which is also based on the agricultural wealth of locally grown ingredients and abundance of fresh seafood.
