The Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits naturally follows on from the Level 1 course, although you are not required to take Level 1 if you already have a very good understanding of wine.
This is an excellent course because we go into detail about all the major countries and wine regions. You will learn about:
- Growing grapes
- Making and maturing wine
- The art of tasting in detail
- Food and wine matching
- The classic grape varieties
- French and German wines
- Italian, Spanish and Portuguese wines
- New world wine regions
- Sparkling and Fortified wines
- The major spirits
We have a large number of general interest wine enthusiasts as well as people working in the hospitality industry and wine trade. If you want to have a very good understanding of the world’s wines, and a real ability to taste, then this is the course for you.
The Level 2 exam involves a multiple choice question paper with 50 questions. The pass mark is 55%. Our pass rate is 97% for this course. The exam takes place at the very end of each course.
