Please join us on Thursday, March 23rd for a very special evening with Eileen Crane, founding winemaker and CEO of Domaine Carneros. Domaine Carneros specializes in great, handcrafted pinot noirs and elegant sparkling wines.

In 1987, Claude Taittinger, president of Champagne Taittinger, selected a beautiful parcel of land in California’s wine country to be the site of his future winery, Domaine Carneros. He chose Eileen Crane to be the property’s first and only winemaker. And the rest, as they say, is history. Known as America’s Doyenne of Sparkling Wine, Eileen has amassed a wealth of experience in thirty years of solidifying the winery’s excellent reputation in the sparkling wine industry.

Our special evening begins at 6:30 in the garden room with our seasonal canapés and Domaine Carneros, Brut Vintage Cuvée.  Feast on Chef Jacques’ five-course dinner featuring the sparkling wines and Pinot Noir wines of Domaine Carneros, including the limited-release luxury Le Rêve Blanc de Blancs, repeatedly rated the “Best Sparkling Wine in America.”

Le Menu

Seasonal Canapés
Brut Vintage Cuvée

Signature wine of Domaine Carneros. It encompasses the widest range of estate clones and vineyard blocks of the winery’s collection. The tapestry of flavors that result, married with the inherent finesse of the cool Carneros fruit, create wines of depth and complexity that are enhanced by a minimum of three years of bottle age sur lie in the cellar before release.

Poached Arctic Char, Smoked Salmon Caviar Beurre Blanc, Roasted Beet Purée
Brut Rosé Cuvée de la Pompadour

More than 250 years ago, Louis XV's great paramour, Madame de la Pompadour, famously introduced sparkling wine to the court at Versailles. She declared it “the only wine that a woman can drink and remain beautiful,” and today Domaine Carneros’ Pompadour Brut Rosé is named in her honor. Domaine Carneros harvests estate-grown, green certified Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from its vineyards in Carneros to craft small quantities of this beautifully balanced Brut Rosé.

Pinot Noir Braised Beef Short Ribs, Galette de Pomme de Terre with Shiitake Mushrooms
Estate Pinot Noir

The grapes for the Estate Pinot Noir are chosen from up to 12 clonal selections in the winery’s five green certified estate vineyards in Carneros. After an early-morning harvest, while the grapes are still cool, the handpicked fruit is gently destemmed and cold soaked. Fermentation takes place in small, open-topped vats with punch-downs, resulting in heightened color and complex flavors

La Matelote de Poissons et Crustaçés
Maine Lobster, Shrimp, Scallops, Crabmeat, White Lobster Sauce, Wilted Greenleaf Lettuce
2008 Le Rêve Blanc de Blancs

Le Rêve is a classic tête de cuvée - the winery’s finest sparkling wine and frequently named America’s Best Sparkling. French for “the dream,” Le Rêve is crafted from 100% estate-grown Chardonnay, making it a pure expression of Domaine Carneros.

Classic Vanilla Profiteroles, Mirabelle Custard Sauce

Gillette’s Locally-roasted Coffee, Selection of Harney & Sons Fine Teas
