This nine-day itinerary aboard the Le Soléal - with its elegant 132 staterooms and suites - takes us to premier wine chateaux in Bordeaux, including Chateau Latour, and charming St. Emilion; Bilbao and its remarkable Guggenheim museum, the seaport of Oporto, as well as a day of natural beauty on the tiny Ile d'Aix, where we will have a chance to enjoy a leisurely walk or bicycle ride past vineyards, marshes, sandy coves and white sand beaches.
Catherine Karnow will be with us to guide you towards improving your photography no matter what level you are at, with whatever sort of camera or smart phone that you have. We will also be enjoying evening presentations on "Tips and Tricks to Better your Photography" and "Adventures as a National Geographic photographer."
From the port of Leixões, you will head to Porto. The capital of the Northern region,
this “city of granite” is notably renowned for its wine but also for its
remarkable historic centre listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Your next call, Bordeaux, in South-West France, is the world wine capital.
You will be seduced by the region’s rich wine-making tradition
as well as it its gastronomy and renowned specialities,
such as the famous cannelé bordelais pastry.
