The Institute of Masters of Wine (North America) will hold their inaugural Syrah Tasting at The Wine House in Los Angeles on Monday, 20 June 2016. This tasting will showcase benchmark Syrah-based wines from around the world - including the Rhone, California, Washington, and the southern hemisphere.
A panel of Masters of Wine will lead a seated tasting between 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm which will feature a curated selection of top wines. A walk-around tasting will follow from 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm with a large selection of high quality Syrah wines from around the world arranged alphabetically by region.
The Institute has a long history of organizing tastings that are prestigious, informative and fun, and this event promises to be amongst the premier wine tasting events of the year. The tasting will focus on a broad scope of top quality old world and new world Syrahs from regions including the Rhône, California, Washington, and the Southern Hemisphere. Selections include: Arnot-Roberts, Betz Family Winery, Copain, Craggy Range , Gangloff, La Barbarine, Côte Rôtie, Gilles Robin, Crozes-Hermitage , Guigal, Chateau d’Ampuis, Côte Rôtie, Henschke, Hill of Grace, Holus Bolus , Louis Barruol, La Boisselée, Côte Rôtie, Mark Sorrel, Hermitage, Paul Jaboulet Aîné, La Chapelle, Hermitage, Penfolds Grange, Saxum, Shaw & Smith , Stolpman and Windgap just to name a few of the over 130 wines that will be presented, allowing for serious evaluation and stylistic comparisons. The number of attendees at both the seated and walk-around tastings will be strictly limited to allow for a comfortable and professional experience.
Tickets for the 4.00 pm to 6.30 Walk-Around tasting are $60.00.
