5pm-6pm ~ Spirit Seminar: The History of Irish Whiskey

– Past & Present -

Join Teeling Irish Whiskey Co. as they retrace the roots & origins of the original “water of life” from ancient times shrouded in Celtic lore to the current building of the first distillery to be built in Dublin since the last one closed back in 1976.  Learn about the history & origins of the Teeling Family and what to expect from the new Teeling Whiskey Distillery.  Whiskeys to be sampled include the Teeling Small Batch, Single Grain and 21 Yr Old Reserve as well as a few other fun surprises.

6:30-7:30PM ~ The Chicago Independent Spirits Expo is proud to present a very special spirited event!

The ‘Know Your Distiller’ Seminar is a rare opportunity to join Marko Karakaseavic, XIIIth Generation Winemaker of Charbay Winery & Distillery and Tequila Tapatio’s Master Distiller Carlos Camarena as they share their distilling stories. Their friendship led to the rare teaming of two respected distilling families and to distill Tequila together, thus finally opening the U.S. market to the 75 year old brand of Tequila Tapatio.  Both distillers carry on family traditions of hand crafted quality spirits. These two leading artisan brands are now available in Chicago.  Expect them to pour something very special from each Distillery for this special & unique occasion!  Seating will be limited to just the first 30 guests to rsvp at https://www.facebook.com/events/287452318113847/.

8pm-9pm ~ The Distilleries of Michigan

Hosted by Simon Barrios, Brand Ambassador for Journeyman Distillery out of Three Oaks, MI.  Join Simon as he leads a discussion and sampling of the top distilleries coming out of “The Wolverine State”.  With Special Guests: New Holland Brewing & Distillery, Two James Distillery Copper Craft Spirits and Traverse City Distillery.
