Grab your straw basket, comfortable shoes and a sun hat and head on over to the 2nd Annual Eat-Drink-Go LOCAL Cider & Mead event at the Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture, located at 1114 Shawan Road, on Sunday, July 20 from 12 noon- 6 pm. The event, sponsored by the Maryland Wineries Association, will feature an open air Farmers Market, handmade crafts, live music and Maryland-produced hard & sparkling cider, mead and fruit wines. Attendees are welcome to stroll the grounds, browse ripe produce from local farmers and enjoy the sights and sounds of the event. Eat-Drink-Go LOCAL is a free event but attendees may choose to purchase a tasting pass for $25.00 that includes a stemless wine glass and samples of Maryland ciders, meads and fruit wines. “As we continue to celebrate Maryland Wine Week, we are excited to feature some of the specialty products made in our state such as ciders, meads and fruit wines. There is such a variety from which to choose so there is something for everyone,” said Kevin Atticks, Executive Director for Maryland Wineries Association.
Participating wineries include Linganore Winecellars, Layton’s Chance Vineyard and Winery, Millstone Cellars, Distillery Lane Ciderworks, Great Shoals Winery and Charm City Meadworks, a brand new company located in Baltimore City. Vendors include Juan Guacamole, The Project Resource Group, Bees by the Bay and Caprikorn Farms (cheese), among others. Entertainment will be provided by Sac Au Lait and Tom Larson.
