52nd Celebration of Oktoberfest
It’s that time of year for a little German flair! What does Oktoberfest mean to you? Brats…music…lederhosen….parades…polka…medallion hunting…beer…carnival rides…”It’s All About Fest!” this year. Willkommen to the 52nd celebration of Oktoberfest!

This year’s theme reminds me of all of the great traditions and events that encompass this time honored tradition in our community. From pre-festival activities, like the Miss La Crosse /Oktoberfest Scholarship Program and the Special Fester Ball “Tanz für Alle” to the 9-jam-packed days of fest, there is a little something for everyone to participate in. Whether you are on the Southside or Northside fest grounds, you’ll be sure to find activities, food, and beverages you’ll enjoy. Check out all the new things going on this year at the LHI community Festplatz on the Northside for exciting new events and the Teen Tent including a strong man, dance, and kickball competition. Craft Beer Night is on a new day with a new set-up sure to please any beer enthusiast! There will also be a Cornhole Tournament on the Southside for all you bean bag champs!

The Oktoberfest family shares Gemutlichkeit all year round through community volunteering, Royal Family visits, and parade marching. Countless hours are dedicated to give back to the community, as well as promote the tradition Oktoberfest. We would not be celebrating our 52nd year without the support of the community.Oktoberfest would not occur without the many volunteers who spend time making sure Oktoberfest is successful, safe, and fun for all.

I want to personally thank the Board of Directors for their countless hours of commitment to serving on the board and special committees. I also want to personally thank the staff from office to grounds to keggers that help make this festival so successful. Your dedication is truly appreciated.
