On Wednesday, August 22, No. 246 in Decatur will savor the final weeks of summer while celebrating the restaurant’s recent Wine Spectator Award of Excellence by hosting Rosé Day from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. No. 246 received this honor for Beverage Director Lara Creasy’s wine list which features a well-chosen selection of quality producers that match the menu in both price and style. A crisp wine that is served chilled, rosé is perfect for the hot days of August. For $30 per person, guests can sample five different rosés from Italy and California paired with backyard cookout fare from Executive Chef Drew Belline. Belline, along with Owner Ford Fry, will be manning a Big Green Egg to prepare smoked porchetta, pickled shrimp and fresh, local summer vegetables for the evening.
Live music will be played on the restaurant’s back patio, where a ping pong table is also available for guests to enjoy. Those who attend the tasting and cookout will also be entered into a raffle to win a free dinner for two ($100 value) at No. 246’s Chef’s Counter. Reservations are recommended as space is limited; call 678-399-8246 to reserve a spot. No. 246 is located at 129 E. Ponce de Leon Avenue in Decatur.
