The techniques of perfect wine and food pairings tend to elude most of us; kept secret by stuffy men in dark suits with purple teeth and spittoons hanging from their necks. The truth is, matching wine and food is easy; they were made for each other! Tonight we’ll take away the intimidation factor to show you exactly how simple wine and food pairing can be.
Our workshop will take place around the dinner table, so arrive hungry. We’ll pair each dish with one wine that works and one that doesn’t, giving you the skills to go forward and make your own matches with confidence. Using the basic building blocks of weight, intensity, acidity, sweetness, and tannin, we’ll teach you how to choose the perfect wine to accompany any meal, and how to avoid those oh-so-scary wine pairing pitfalls.

Shrimp salad with herbed vinaigrette
Spicy fish cakes with daikon salad
Butter-poached lobster voul-a-vents
Chicken roulade with mushrooms and pancetta
Grilled Strip Steaks with black cherry cabernet sauce
A range of wine styles will be poured, each pairing building upon to next to show you exactly what works, what doesn’t, and why.
