Memphis to Play Host to Three Day Celebration of Heritage Breed Pork, National Bourbon Month and Some of the Country’s Best BBQ

A three-day celebration of heri...tage pork, fine dining, National Bourbon Month, and BBQ, an American—and a Memphis—tradition. Festivities include special tastings experiences, interactive demonstrations, panel discussions, specialty food artisans, craft beers, family-owned winery selections and samplings from small batch Bourbon distillers. The culmination of COCHON Heritage BBQ 2012 will be a first-of-its-kind a competition that pits 24 fine dining teams against one another in the ultimate heritage breed pig BBQ cook off while celebrating National Bourbon Month.

COCHON Heritage BBQ 2012 will unite responsible farmers, renowned chefs, master bourbon distillers, prominent winemakers, established restaurateurs and 1,000 members of the pig-loving public. ** A complete roster of participating chefs and partners to be available late July **

Friday, August 31 kicks off the weekend with the Master Distillers’ Reception & Mixologists Soiree at the Peabody Hotel, Official Hotel of Heritage BBQ

Saturday, September 1 “Best of Memphis” features the COCHON5.55K pork run, cultural activities across the city, Winemaker Paired Football Games and Chef Eating Challenge at celebrated BBQ locations, and more.

Sunday, September 2 is highlighted by 24 leading fine dining teams going head-to-head in the ultimate Heritage BBQ Whole Hog contest as well as various tastings, demos and panel discussions centered around heritage breeds and National Bourbon Month.

Artisan, producers and farmers are welcome to inquire about setting up a market style booth.

TICKETS: A total weekend package is $555 and includes all premium experiences. Individual ticket experiences are $20-$125.Tickets starting for the weekend will be on sale July 7th, stay tuned.
