Whether your summertime event is a beach house dinner soiree for 8 or a 300-person backyard barbeque blowout, as a member of the cocktail cognoscenti, you want to serve exactly the right drink to enhance your guests’ good time. Brides and grooms, birthday boys, party girls and even folks who are just really into the tailor made: this class makes it a snap.
First we cover the ten essentials to consider when crafting an event cocktail - elements such as, who is being feted at this event (Heavy drinkers? Tee-totalers? Family? College pals?), the themes you want to reiterate through your drink (is it a sock hop? Is it eco-chic? Is the décor bright pink? Are you serving Thai food?), and most importantly, what do you like to drink? With an eye towards thirst-quenching, heat-beating ingredients, and classic dog day activities, we’ll make and taste case histories of successful signature cocktails. After you enjoy a couple of drinks and learn some bartending tricks, you’ll have the option of breaking into a quick one-on-one session with Jenn to help you focus your ideas and hone in on the right flavors, colors and textures for your special drink.
