        We’re hardly going out on a limb when we declare Chateau Climens and Chateau d’Yquem to be our all-time favorite Sauternes.  We’ve had the good fortune to have tasted Climens and d’Yquem many times through many vintages, including several vertical tastings of each.  Certainly d’Yquem is uniquely wonderful, so viscous and rich, quite arguably the world’s greatest dessert wine.  Climens, technically a Barsac, offers a more refined, elegant style that can be the equal of d’Yquem in quality in a very different style.

        For this unique tasting, we will taste Climens and d’Yquem side by side through seven superb Sauternes vintages.  This is not meant to be a competition.  Rather, it pays homage to both, and allows attendees to hone in on the differences between these two reference point wines.

        Climens & d’Yquem promises to be as stimulating to your brain as it is to your palate.  A Terrine of Foie Gras will be served to further your enjoyment.
