Hillcrest Terrace Winery on the westside of Santa Cruz is changing its name to Rexford Winery and throwing an open house party to celebrate the new name. There will be food, live music, and special pricing on wines. 

Rexford Winery handcrafts wines in small lots from select local vineyards, mainly in the Santa Cruz Mountains.  Rexford Winery’s focus is on single-vineyard Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Merlot, and other premium varieties. Enjoy this boutique urban winery in a converted warehouse, where wine is made on the premises and you can meet the winemaker, Joe Miller. Miller was Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of California at Santa Cruz (UCSC), and long-time Director of the Lick Observatory near San Jose. He has been teaching classes on wine appreciation at UCSC for 40 years.

The tasting room is open to the public Saturdays 12:00-5:00pm and Sundays 2-5:00pm.

Rexford Winery is a member of the Surf City Vintners, a group of 13 boutique wineries within walking distance nearby.
