The Amateur Beer Brewing Competition:

As part of its mission to bring arts and cultural programs to the people of Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Community Center’s Beer-vana beer brewing competition highlights the art of brewing beer and provided an opportunity for amateur brewers to get feedback from a panel of certified judges.

The Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) sanctioned the competition, and all submissions will be judged in accordance with BJCP style guidelines (visit www.bjcp.org for more information). Prizes will include ribbons and the grand prize Beer-vana stein, a coveted hand-made ceramic beer stein trophy.

Winners of the Amateur Beer Brewing competition will be announced at the Beer + Food Tasting party, held at Sonoma Community Center on Saturday, March 3, 2012, and open to the public ages 21 and up. Admission includes samples of beer from dozens of breweries and local restaurants, a commemorative beer glass, and live music.
