Dinner in Périgord, Feb. 29 & Mar. 1, 2012
We will travel to Périgord once again this February. It is one of my favorite areas of France. I spent a week witn my French family in a house surrounded by hills covered in sunflowers (and a great week it was)! This area of southwest France is among its most beautiful and unspoiled, and includes the Dordogne River and many of the prehistoric cave sites, such as Lascaux. The cuisine is rich and earthy and justly celebrated for the foie gras produced in the region. The wines of Périgord, which have been often overshadowed by nearby Bordeaux, are extremely good.
