Come sit back, relax and be entertained by the ALWAYS interesting Jeannie Rogers. We will be serving eight different wines in glassware for you to taste.
Jeannie Rogers, former partner and sommeliere at the excellent Il Caprccio restaurant in Waltham, has a passion for wines from Italy. She searches out ones made in limited quantities by smaller, individual winemakers who just want to make good, often organic, wine and sell it at a fair price. Her winemakers love what they do, and you can taste their personal touch in the character of their wines. Each of the wines possesses a unique style that sets it apart from others, especially those made in bulk.
Many of our customers have been asking me to carry her wines for years, and now we finally do. Why are her wines so sought after? If you've ever said or thought that the wine tasted better during your vacation in Italy then it does at home, then these are your wines. They are very natural and authentic examples of Italian wine.
Wines to be tasted include:
2008 Cascina Roera Barbera d’Asti
2006 La Piane Boca
1990 La Piane Boca
2008 Anisos Bianco Eugenio Rosi (Trentino) (organic)
2006 Bonarda “Ghiro” (OLTREPO PAVESE) Martilde
2009 Bonarda (OLTREPO PAVESE) Martilde
2009 Sanguineto Bianco
2010 Le Piane Colline Novaresi Rosso la maggiorina
