There are more than 2,000 indigenous grape varieties in Italy, compared to France (roughly 70). That means aside from the more "well-known" varietals of Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Pinot Grigio, there is a lot of obscurity. Each of these varietals plays a very important role in the wine, food and ultimately culture of each region of Italy. Please join Aaron Meeker for a "get out of your comfort zone"whirlwind trip across Italy. This is sure to be a unique event ... Rossese, Pigato or Rebo anyone?
