Join USQ and Matthew Skoller for an evening of terroir-driven spirit and soul-inspired music as we present Cognac & Blues! When renaissance man Matthew Skoller isn't rockin' his harmonica at jazz establishments across the US, he's singing the praises of artisan cognac....and sometimes he'll do both in one evening!
Family Tradition Cognacs was founded by Mr. Skoller to bring small production, terroir-driven Cognac into the spotlight. His collection of producers brings this philosophy into focus, offering distinctive spirits with personality and precision. Taste a trio of family bottlings from Jean-Pierre Grateaud, Emmanuel Février, and Jean-Luc Pasquet. Attendees will have the chance to sample selections from Cognac's subregions of Grande Champagne, Fins Bois, and Borderies, all with starkly different expressions.
As for the Blues, Matthew Skoller is joined by legendary Blues musician Bill Sims, Jr.! Since Mr. Sims is usually playing the likes of 55 Bar, Terra Blues, and The Ritz, it is certainly a pleasure to have him on hand at USQ! These soulful gentlemen will provide the ambiance for brown spirit enthusiasts to mellow with fine Cognacs all evening!
