2010 Az. Agr. Scagliola Moscato d' Asti "Primo Bacio" (Piedmont, IT): $15 (Reg. $18)
Calosso, a small town in Piedmont, on the last hills of the Monferrato district, bordering on the Langhe, is dominated by a sweeping vineyard landscape. Here, in this traditional farming area, nestles Azienda Agricola Scagliola. Brothers Maggiorino and Mario Scagliola run this estate started by their grandfather in 1945. Moscato d'Asti was the initial focus and claim to fame for the Scagliola winery. Primo Bacio, Italian for "first kiss", is delicately sweet and slightly effervescent.
2010 Closerie Des Alisiers Macon-Milly-Lamartine (Burgundy, FR): $13.50 (Reg. $15)
100% Chardonnay
Stéphane Brocard is a thirty-something Chablisien who set-up his own boutique négociant business after learning the business in his family’s winery. He works with small parcels of carefully selected grapes to produce fresh, clean wines with a true expression of terroir.
2008 Tobin James Ballistic Zinfandel (Paso Robles, CA): $16 (Reg. $20)
Big and bold with layers and layers of decadent fruit.
Trimbach Liquer de Framboise (Alsace, FR): $15 (Reg. $17)
The Trimbach family has been making wine in Alsace for 13 generations. Liquer de Framboise is made with 100% raspberries and distilled with neutral wine brandy. Serve chilled, over ice-cream or in a Kir cocktail. We'll be experimenting with the Closerie des Alisiers Burgundy.
Southern Tier Blackwater Series Imperial Choklat Stout (Lakewood, NY): $7 (Reg. $8.75)“Moving through centuries, the circular journey of cacao has been realized in our brewing house, encompassing the complexity of the darkest, bitter-sweet candy together with the original frothy cold beverage of the ancient Maya to bring to you our Blackwater Series Choklat Stout.” -- From the brewery
