Who among us would deny that wine plays a supporting role in romance, flirtation and seduction? It stimulates the senses, lowers our inhibitions and renders the world a warm, glowing place. As if wine weren't tempting enough, add the irresistible allure of chocolate. Sure, both are delicious. Potentially more delicious together. But what's more, there are chemicals at play, stirring up sensations we may not even be aware of. The aromas of many wines (such as earthy, musky, spiced and floral scents) are believed to replicate human pheromones, the chemical substances which signal attraction in the brain. Ingredients in chocolate are proven to stimulate the production of endorphins, invigorating the pleasure center.... and then some!
