Event Details
Wine OR Wine & Food
La Mancha is the largest Spanish Denomination of Origin and the world’s largest wine producing area, with almost 200.000 hectares under vine, spread between 4 provinces of Castilla La Mancha.
DO Valdepeñas is a region with a long history of producing the wine known as Aloque or Clarete – a blend of red and white grapes that were fermented and aged in giant earthenware vases – “tinajas” with volume up to 1600 litres.
Vinos de Pago – this title is the highest honor the winery can obtain in Spain. This designation applies to the wine regions with the very highest standards with extremely strict geographical criteria, centering on individual single-estates with an international reputation. There are currently only 10 estates with this status in Spain.
The wines from the Canary islands held a position of prestige already centuries ago, mentioned already by Shakespeare in his plays. Along with the Balearics, today they boast of very peculiar autochthonous grape varieties that produce wines with notable character.
According to our usual scheme, we will cover these areas’:
