Tuscany! What does this conjure in your mind. Some of the finest wines in Italy. This tasting will focus on two of the region's best wine producer's Monsanto Chiant Classico Riserva and Capezzana, Carmignano.
Monsanto created the mondern style of Chianti Classico Riserva in 1962, eliminating white grapes from the blend in which Sangiovese predominates. 2007 was one of the Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2011; 2008 Chianti Classico Riserva was rated 92 Points by Rober Parker. This is their 50th year and there will be an opportunity to pre-order a Limited Edition 50th Anniversery Magnums and 3 Liter Jeroboams. .
Capezzana, Carmignano is the smallest of the Tuscan DOCG's and the 1st Super Tuscan. The estate, which dates to 804 AD is one of the jewels of Tuscany. Capezzan produces the beautiful Barco Reale, one of the Wine Spectator's Top 100 Value Wines of 2011.
