Viognier - Blind Tasting
February 8, 2012 (Wed)
from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Dallas, TX
Cost: $20
Event ID #408547
Viognier seemed literally an endangered
variety only a few years ago, but seems to be
recovering worldwide in both popularity and
acreage. Less than 35 acres remained planted in all of France,
its homeland, in the late 1960s. Its newest realm,
California, has 2,001 acres as of 2002 and there
are also relatively new plantings in Australia and
Brazil, as well as other U.S. plantings in
Colorado, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas,
Virginia, and Washington.
This tasting is a great opportunity for both Viognier virtuosos and novices. Not only will you learn about this variety, locations it is grown and its flavor profiles, but also you will judge at least 10 Viogniers to determine which Viognier reigns supreme.
With knowledge shared by award-winning winemakers Lee Fuqua and Courtney Key this blind tasting is sure to tickle your taste buds and provide all the information you ever wanted to know about Viognier!
When: 7:00pm, Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012
Reservations: call Lee Fuqua at 214-769-1147
