Any avid wine drinker these days is well aware of the abundance of great Malbecs from Mendoza…but is that it? In my recent travels to Argentina, I’ve discovered there is a great diversity in the terroir of Argentina. While most producers are planting Malbec to meet the demands of the US consumer, it turns out not all areas are perfect for this often brooding varietal, and the best producers are focusing on making wines that showcase the potential of their vineyards, perhaps with different grapes. This dinner will explore some of the best terroir-driven wines of Mendoza paired with a traditional Argentine Asado (a meat-lovers dream) prepared by Executive Chef Jodi Bernhard.
