Like most European countries, Austria has a very rich and eventful background. There are some elements of Austria that haven’t changed over the centuries, particularly the country’s musical history.

Austria is also known for its cinema, art and architecture, literature, and most importantly, its tourism. Located in the mountainous countryside of the Alps, people from all over the world travel there year round to take in the lush, green beautiful surroundings of summer, and the incredible skiing in the winters. Austria is a magnificent country with much to see and do.

Tonight’s Agenda:

Networking, Socializing, and an Open Bar of Austrian Wines
as well as Non-Alcoholic Beverages

Showing of the Movie ~ Vinyl: Tales from the Vienna Underground

Dinner Buffet with Authentic Austrian Dishes

Musical Performance by The Happy Kids

The movie Vinyl: Tales from the Vienna Underground is a movie about the hidden experimental and electronic music world in Vienna. Well known artists such as Kruder & Dorfmeister, Christian Fennesz or Electric Indigo present the current Vienna music scene which - step by step - could turn into some kind of New-Berlin. The movie is shot as a documentary, and is at the same time a declaration of love to vinyl records as a cultural phenomenon. In the movie, vinyl is represented as a metaphor of something that is loved despite its imperfection. By doing so, it reflects the artist's connection to the city of Vienna. The movie will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. and is approximately 80 minutes long.

The Austrian band The Happy Kids likes to do things its own way. Boy (Al Bird) on fuzz organ, girl (Ana Threat) on surf guitar, plus a tape deck that spits out vintage drum machine beats at an inappropriate speed and volume - that's the way they do it. The Duo's first EP "7" was released on their newly founded label Trash Rock Productions, and was reviewed enthusiastically both nationally and abroad. The band has performed live with minds like Mr. Quintron & Miss Pussycat, The Pharmacy, Pirate Love, Electronicat and Mondo Ray. Molding the stars of tomorrow, ripping off the non-entities of yesterday, The Happy Kids are what's happening!
