Celebrate the Riesling varietal among vintners, vineyards and views of East and West Grand Traverse Bay during Romancing the Riesling, hosted by the Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula on Saturday, February 18 from 11–5 p.m.
Northern Michigan is known for producing premium Riesling grapes, and the wineries will be sharing some of the best Rieslings they have to offer. Romancing the Riesling will feature Riesling wine tastings at each of the wineries, desserts, appetizers and a commemorative wine glass. Each attendee will also receive at least 10% off all Riesling wine purchases at the participating wineries throughout the event. Discount varies and excludes ice wines.

Wine Seminar and Tasting: State of the Riesling
An exclusive Riesling seminar will be offered at The Inn at Chateau Grand Traverse on Saturday, February 18 from 1–2:30 p.m. The seminar will be hosted by winemaker Sean O’Keefe and include Riesling samples from all over the country, including northern Michigan Rieslings for comparison.
Sean crafted the specialty 2010 Chateau Grand Traverse Whole Cluster Riesling recently included in Food & Wine magazine's Editor Picks 2011: Best Wine and Beer. In the article, wine editors Ray Isle and Megan Krigbaum selected ten wines as most exceptional of the year, including Chateau Grand Traverse’s award-winning Riesling.
