The next Punch Tavern Wine Tasting is on Wednesday 14th Febuary 2012 at 6:30.This month we will have Champagne and Sparkling Wine Tasting.This month's wine tasting is dedicated to the all things fizzy, bubbly, and sparkly. It's our Champagne and Sparkling Wine Tasting.

This year's fizz tasting is a little different though. We tend to drink our fizz on its own over here in the UK, yet fizz is a surprisingly versatile food matcher. We've all heard of Champagne and Oysters but did you know that a young non-vintage Champagne is one of the best matches for fish and chips there is (as long as you don't smother with vinegar!). Try Rosé Champagne with softer cheeses like Brie. Also the delicate sweet edge to Prosecco is great with lighter desserts (anything with berry fruit is great). You can even enjoy the lighter sweet Italian fizz Moscato D'Asti with a huge range of puddings. The list goes on and on.

For this tasting we'll be pairing seven different Champagne and Sparklers with seven dishes to show just how versatile fizz can be. Don't miss out!
