In "Wine Elements: Back to Basics", you will embark on
an adventure that will enhance your appreciation for wine. There's a common
misconception that wine tasters have special talent, but the truth is, anyone
can learn to taste and evaluate wine if they take the time to understand it. You
already have all the tools you need - your basic senses - and this class will
teach you how to put them to work. This is not a "how can I tell if this is a
Chardonnay or Riesling" class, although we'll give you tips on this as well.
Instead, you will learn about the components that make up the aromas and flavors
of wine, and how to distinguish them, in a few easy steps. Then, put your new
skills to the test when you taste a selection of distinctive wines. This sensory
evaluation will open a whole new world of wine for you! Oh, and did we mention
that you'll be tasting all the wines blindly so you can really put your palate
to work?
