The Tasting Room Management Certificate helps prepare you for more responsibility by taking courses in direct shipping, staffing, marketing, wine club management, data base management, sales, budgeting, and customer relationship management.

The Tasting Room Management Certificate requires the completion of (8) half day courses, which can be completed this semester or at your own pace. The fee is $150 per course.

Students wishing to complete the Certificate can choose any five elective courses but must complete these three core courses:

·         Introduction to Tasting Room Management

·         State Compliance for Direct Shipping

·         Building a Profitable Wine Club

These professional development courses are open to the public and may be taken individually or collectively. All courses are offered at the SSU campus.

·         Building a Profitable Wine Club: February 24; 1pm - 5pm

·         State Compliance for Direct Shipping: March 2; 8am - Noon

·         Introduction to Tasting Room Management: March 2; 1pm - 5pm

·         Innovative Wine Marketing & Brand Momentum; March 16; 8am - Noon (Napa)

·         Practical Strategies to Increase Wine e-Commerce Sales: March 16; 1pm - 5pm (Napa)

·         Exit Strategy, Brand Building and Value: March 23; 8am - Noon

·         Managing Performance of Tasting Room Employees: March 23; 1pm - 5pm

·         Introduction to IRI/Nielsen Scan Data: April 13; 8am - Noon

·         Wine Marketing: April 13; 1pm - 5pm

·         Selling Through the Tasting Room: April 20; 8am - Noon

·         The DNA of Consumer Experience: April 20; 1pm - 5pm

·         Federal Wine Compliance: Taking the Mystery Out of the Process; 8am - Noon
