Tom Vaughan, Society of Wine Educators, presents ZINFANDEL - America's own wine. Tonight you will taste about 10 California Zinfandels. This grape has a deep red bordering on black color with a spicy, raspberry flavor that makes marvelous fruity red wines ranging from lighter styles to big, rich reds that rival Cabernet Sauvignon. There's even a White Zin that goes in the Blush Wine category and a Late-Harvest Zin that tastes like Sherry. Handouts include lots of info on lots of Zins for every occasion. Cost includes snacks, bottled water, coffee and around 8:30pm a Cold Buffet of meats/cheeses/veggies/fruit/breads & crackers. Come taste the wine that put California on the World-Wide Map of Great Wines.
