The Washington’s Birthday Celebration festivities get smoking with the two-day Jalapeño Festival that takes partying and competitive eating to scalding heights! American and Mexican influences join together in this unique tribute to the father of our country and “the tiny green giant” –which, although small, is known to pack quite a punch -- in this rowdy celebration that will leave you burning for more. Cooking contests, a blind jalapeño toss, delectable food booths and games-galore offer plenty to do, eat, and drink at this multi-cultural “festival-within-a-festival;” but remember to leave some energy for the tear-jerking, edge-of-your-seat excitement of the event’s signature attraction, the La Costeña Jalapeño Eating Contest. (Currently Patrick "Deep Dish" Bertoletti, a professional eater from Chicago, holds the all time Jalapeño Eating Contest record of eating 266 jalapeños in 15 minutes!!!)
